MY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

As a teen, I was very interested in science and exercise. But, part of this was due to body image issues I had at the time.

I always loved science, but my obsession with exercise and learning more about it came from trying to achieve some “perfect body”…because that’s what I thought I had to have to be “good enough.”

Due to this, I had a very abusive relationship with exercise at that time…disguising running marathons at 16 as an “achievement”…but really it was more of an addiction.

Due to my body image issues, and over-exercising, I also created a very unhealthy relationship with food. I was always restricting food, then overeating (due to mindsets I created around food) and then trying to over-exercise to burn it off.

But, this obsession (and my love for science) pushed me to go to college for exercise physiology.

After college, I worked at a private training studio outside of Minneapolis that had Olympic Training Center grade testing equipment…

Being able to test my body fat and weight to an insanely accurate level, made me even more obsessed with my weight and my body.

But, along my journey, I learned how to heal this relationship with food, exercise, and my body. I learned how certain mindsets from the dieting and fitness industry shape our behaviors with food, exercise, and ourselves.

I learned and fully embodied that my worth is not attached to what my body looks like.

I may have certain preferences for my aesthetic (and my background in exercise, eating, and mindset allows me to maintain that easily.) But, my worth is no longer attached to that…and the freedom that comes from this is indescribable…

Which is what I help women do in my body peace coaching.

So, throughout my journey, I was able able to master having a balanced relationship with food, create a quick and efficient relationship with exercise, and learn how to sustain my healthy habits easily over the long-term.

But, back to the timeline …

After working at the private training studio, I went to work for a big fitness corporation (Lifetime Fitness/Athletic.)

Then after I gave birth to my daughter, (who I gained 70lbs for btw! ha), I started my own fitness studio in upstate NY where I helped women with not only their fitness and eating, but their relationships with their body, food, and exercise.

When covid hit, I closed the studio and went online.

I now run under the name Healthy Habit Coaching with Ashley and help ALL people with being able to sustain their healthy habits, create balance with food, and create sustainable fat loss (depending on which one their goal is.)

I also do online personal training (for all) and body peace coaching for women.

I hope you enjoyed my story.

Thanks so much for reading and for being here! :)
